International Innovation is proud to be supporting the 11th edition of BIOVISION as a media partner for the sixth year.

11th edition of BIOVISION

Held from 13-14 April in Lyon, France, the main theme of the forum will be ‘Global Health and Prevention’ with a special focus on medicine and humanities, vaccines, cancer prevention and digitalised patients.

Bringing together international decision makers, BIOVISION will also welcome major players from the health sector, seeking to determine concrete solutions to existing and future health issues.

The programme will consist of plenary sessions, workshops and pitch presentations and concludes with a closing session and awards ceremony, recognising the best pitches. Speakers at the forum include a range of experts across a number of different sectors, as well as the President of Unitaid, Philippe Douste-Blazy, and the Director of the Health Directorate at the Research DG of the European Commission, Dr Ruxandra Draghia-Akli.

BIOVISION PRESENTATIONS

BIOVISION includes two sessions for presenting innovative projects and bids for funding:

  • BIOVISION Catalyzer is a springboard for innovative health projects and start-ups, allowing them to meet and connect with potential private and public partners. The Catalyzer Selection committee will evaluate the pitching candidates and select the award winners. Those that are successful in their pitch will automatically qualify for Lyon’s International start-ups acceleration programme – Big Booster.
  • The Investor Conference puts biotech, medtech, e-health and environmental health start-ups in direct contact with potential business and development partners. Pre-selected companies will have the opportunity to pitch to a panel of key European life sciences investors. This gives the start-ups visibility and a chance to network with key accounts, potential industrial partners and financial investors. The international selection committee will select the best pitches and is co-chaired by Karine Lignel, venture capital Director at CM-CIC and Dr. Lukas Günther from Wallington Partners.

There is an awards ceremony at the end of the week recognising the best Catalyzer and Investor pitches.

International Innovation will be publishing the highlights from this year’s event. Our summary of the 10th edition of BIOVISION, which took place in 2015, can be found here.
