International Innovation is proud to announce its media partnership with the European Congress on Biotechnology’s ECB2016 – a biannual event organised by the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB). The EFB is a pan-European federation that works to promote biotechnology. ECB2016 will take place at EXPO Krakow in Krakow, Poland, from 3-6 July 2016.
The plenary presentations at ECB2016 will feature esteemed leaders in the science policy and biotechnology field, including Patrick Schnable, sponsored by the US Department of Agriculture, and Emmanuelle Charpentier, who will discuss genome engineering with CRISPR-Cas9. Other plenary lecturers will be Professors Tai Hyun Park, who has developed a synthetic nose, Luke Alphey, who has pioneered the genomic manipulation of parasites and Jens Nielsen, world leader in the systems and synthetic biology of yeast.
Eminent biotechnologists from top universities, governmental bodies and institutions will lead the 25 scientific symposia during this year’s conference. The topics will cover industrial, medical, plant and environmental biotechnology and will take an in depth look into new tools and products in the field. Additionally, these symposia will present the latest in systems and synthetic biotechnology.
To encourage young biotechnologists, the four-day conference aims to teach them the ins and outs of getting their activities published in lead scientific journals through a dedicated publications workshop. It will be led by the Editor-in-Chief of the EFB Journal New Biotechnology. This is part of a bigger Publisher’s Corner where leading publishing houses will be providing access to their scientific journals and biotechnology publications.
With 1,000 scientists, industrialists and academicians from around the world expected to attend this conference, International Innovation is excited to share with its readers their latest discoveries and to learn about novel products and breakthroughs. As such, International Innovation will hold interviews with key speakers from the Congress ahead of the event. Keep your eyes on the Research and Insight section of our website, as these interviews will start appearing soon.
